The Year 2 homework for this half term will be as follows and can be completed in any order to suit yourselves:
• Reading (books are to be sent home each Monday and to be returned on Friday morning to allow 72 hours to pass before redistributing);
• Weekly spellings (spellings lists to be practised on Spelling Shed);
• Times Table Rock Stars;
• English, maths or topic activity (to be submitted via ClassDojo portfolios).
Homework sheets will be uploaded each Monday on to ClassDojo. If you require a paper copy of the homework, please let me know.
If you require login information for Spelling Shed, Times Table Rock Stars or ClassDojo please do not hesitate to let me know and I will get it to you as soon as possible.
By the end of Year 2, children need to be confident to read and write most of the common exception words found below. You may want to pick some words every so often to practise.
Please encourage your child to read for at least 10 minutes at home every night. Reading is a very important part of the learning process and it is vital for your child to be practising this skill as often as possible, therefore, allowing them to access other areas of the curriculum more successfully.
