If we have a class lockdown or you are self isolating and home learning due to coronavirus, I will be sending some activities home to keep you busy. For most activities, there will be no need to print them out, just use the book sent home last summer, one from the post office or any paper to write your answers in. Some sheets will need to be shared via ClassDojo or email, so if you can't access your child's ClassDojo account, please email me so I can send work electronically.
There will also be activities set on the usual online sites. We have stuck all of your passwords into your Home Learning book, but if you have any problems, please do get in contact. EducationCity now has access to all resources at all times, so if there are any additional activities which you would like to try, go for it (and let me know if you find a particularly fantastic one)!
Hopefully we will be back to normal as quickly as possible, but in the meantime please keep in touch, send me pictures, photos and videos via ClassDojo or email and keep checking back here for more activities. My email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
Home learning Spring term
As we are currently shut to all children except key worker and vulnerable, I will be posting weekly packs on here for you to access. Please use the videos on the Ruth Miskin YouTube channel, and keep in touch via email or ClassDojo.
Science - Grouping animals
The RWI videos can be accessed via the link at the top of the page (https://ruthmiskin.us12.list-manage.com/track/click?u=6bde5b9423568e3565810e174&id=8a870dc0ab&e=2d0b75e965). As they are changed daily, it is not possible to put a link on here, but I have included the video of how the sounds are pronounced.
White Rose Maths
White Rose Maths have some daily lessons online, although this is not the scheme of work we follow at school, the lessons and resources look great. For each day you will find a video, a question sheet and a copy of the answers. From May 4th the worksheets will not be with the videos online, but can be downloaded as part of the weekly pack. https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-1/
BBC Bitesize have lots of good activities and games for each subject. Beginning Monday 11 January, CBBC will show educational programs daily for year 1 these seem to be from 9:00 until 9:20 then general programs from 10:05, please have a watch and let me know what you think. We'll also have a new dedicated TV channel full of learning content, podcasts on BBC Sounds and loads of educational video on iPlayer. https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/levels/z3g4d2p
Twinkl are also releasing resources aligned to these programmes, which can be accessed for free. Each week I will add the timetable on here, with hyperlinks to the resources they have released. They also link to the programmes on iPlayer for if you miss one, or enjoy one so much you want to watch it again!
The activities below are additional resources for if you would like something extra or something a bit different. There is a set of activities and a guidance document with answers. I will add more as they are released, and extra links as I come across them. If you think there is something which would be good to share, please do let me know.
