Home Learning

While school is closed due to coronavirus, I will be sending some activities home to keep you busy.  For most activities, there will be no need to print them out, just use the blue book with your passwords to write any answers in.  Some sheets will need to be shared via ClassDojo or email, so if you can't access your child's ClassDojo account, please email me so I can send work electronically.

There will also be activities set on the usual online sites.  We have stuck all of your passwords into your Home Learning book, but if you have any problems, please do get in contact.  EducationCity now has access to all resources at all times, so if there are any additional activities which you would like to try, go for it (and let me know if you find a particularly fantastic one)!

Hopefully we will be back to normal as quickly as possible, but in the meantime please keep in touch, send me pictures, photos and videos via ClassDojo or email and keep checking back here for more activities.  My email address is:

Phonics lessons online

Ruth Miskin Training are offering online phonics lessons.  These can be watched on Facebook or YouTube at the given times.  I have tried to include the YouTube video link below.

Films will only be available for 24 hours after the first broadcast:

  • Set 1 Speed Sounds at 9.30 am
  • Set 2 Speed Sounds at 10.00 am
  • Set 3 Speed Sounds at 10.30 am

As we have learnt all the speed sounds, Set 3 is probably the most appropriate, but you may find set 1 and set 2 useful for recapping or for younger siblings.

P.E. sessions

For an energetic start to your day, you could join in with the Joe Wicks, "P.E. with Joe" sessions every morning at 9:00.  To watch these, click on this link, then select today's lesson from the side:

As there will be a new session added each day, a link as above does not seem possible, but here is the video for the first Monday.  Remember you can join in live at 9:00am or watch later in the day.

Easter crafts

Well done, you have completed a week of home learning.

I will not be sending you any more activities until April 14th when we were due to start back after the Easter holidays.  In the meantime, there are some craft activities you could try above, or you could make some chocolate crispy nests.  Remember the online activities will still be available and there are extra activities below.

There are lots of different resources being released as a result of school closures. I’m sure lots of you will have seen these already, but if not, they are worth a look. If you find any others which you think are great for sharing, please let me know and I will send them to parents and add them on this webpage.

David Walliams is releasing a free audio story each day at 11, to listen click on one of these links:

Audible are also offering free stories for children, this seems to be from their American site, but I have had a look and the link does work in the UK:
