Long Term Planning
Class teachers post information of what is being taught during the half term on their class pages on the websites. Please check individual class pages for what is being taught each term.
Throughout school Reading, Writing, Grammar Punctuation & Spelling, Speaking & Listening are taught discretely every morning. In the Inants we have a focussed daily phonics session and in the Juniors we have Guided Reading sessions to develop children's reading skills. Writing is based on the Power of reading Project where key texts are used to explore literature, immerse children in the work of the book and provide quality links with other curriculum subjects. Talk for Writing provides children with a vital skill for developing their writing and these skills are used throughout the curriculum to support writing in other subjects.
