Year 4 Residential 2015/2016

We had the most amazing time on our residential visit to Windermere this year. The children participated in everything with great enthusiasm and were a delight to be with. Many of the people we came into contact with said how wonderfully polite and charming they were; they did our school proud! Well done Year 4 2016, you are Superkids! The weather was amazing and we made the most of it, staying outside until well into the evening each night. Please enjoy the huge amount of photographs below. (Make a cuppa, we took 100's!)

Day 1

After exploring our rooms and unpacking we enjoyed our packed lunches on picnic benches at the Youth Hostel overlooking the lake; a fantastic start! We were joined by Ian who encouraged the children to work as teams in order to win a set of challenges. This was followed by a delicious dinner and then a play in the woods until bedtime.

The wood surrounding the YH is a fabulous place for the children to really 'go wild'.

Our second day began with the hugest breakfast you have ever seen! Our transport arrived and we left the YH and went to Brockhole for the day. We did some orienteering in the morning and after more food we participated in the Tree-top Trek (not for the faint-hearted!). Every child managed the trek and leapt with wild abandon from the tower and took the zip wire to the ground; fantastic!

Not only did we defy gravity but then went on to have a marvellous time on the Adventure Playground and a good spend at the shop.

Friday: On the last day we packed up our rooms, said goodbye to the YH and travelled down to the lake where we fed the swans while waiting to board the steamer. After a lovely, sunny sail we disembarked and then visited the Aquarium of the Lakes where Andrew gave us a guided tour of the exhibits.

What a wonderful trip! We had such a fabulous time and the children were of course 'Little Angels'. Many thanks Year 4 - you were great!
