Year 5 had a fabulous time on their residential at Ford Castle in Northumberland. Despite it being a very wet week – the children certainly did not let this dampen their enjoyment. The children took part in archery, potion making, zip wire, high wire, leap of faith, crate stacking, obstacle courses, discovery walk, team games and search and rescue.
The high wire took a lot of courage, even for the adults! We were extremely proud of all the children who attempted this challenge. The discovery walk was a two- hour long walk which included map reading skills, testing some of the children’s resilience as it was such a long way in the rain! Nevertheless, the children completed this challenge with smiling faces!
The children also enjoyed the evening entertainment – especially the dance off, girls against boys!
Children and teaching staff all enjoyed the week out of the classroom and it proved to be a huge success! A huge thank you to Mrs Storey, Mrs Hill, Mrs James and Mrs Agnew for all their help and enabling this trip to go ahead.
