Rosehill Theatre - ‘Schools Sing’
This term, Rosehill are offering ‘Schools Sing’ workshops, which will build on the success of previous singing projects with schools over the last two years. I am delighted that Year 3 will be taking part in this project over the next 3 months.
‘Schools Sing’ will provide the opportunity for us to learn a variety of repertoire and perform alongside professional musicians and other schools in a community concert. The workshops will be fun, engaging sessions, designed to introduce students to new musical experiences and ignite a love of singing.
Working with vocal leader Hannah King and members of the National Youth Choir of Great Britain’s Fellowship Choir, each school will have a series of 5 workshops, teaching the students to learn new songs and develop their performing confidence. The workshops will culminate in a concert at Rosehill on Friday 8th December 2017.
The Schools Sing model is for key stage 2 and will consist of:
• 5 x workshop sessions led by visiting leader (90 minutes each)
• 1 x concert by participating schools and Rosehill Children’s Choir to an audience of family and friends
• Workshops will be held in school during October, November and December.
• Friday 8th December - Final concert with NYCGB Fellowship choir members at Rosehill- more details regarding the concert will follow in due course.
