Homework- Summer Term 2019

Image result for homework

Homework will be set each Monday and will be due to be completed by the following Monday- activities each evening should take no more than 20 minutes. The homework will reinforce work done in class during the week and will include: spellings, reading, writing, English and Maths using Education City (www.educationcity.com) and MyMaths (www.mymaths.co.uk) or be of a research nature. Hard copies of the homework will be available for children who would prefer or do not have internet access. If your child does not have internet access, homework requiring internet can be completed at school during the lunchtime homework club.

I would also like to encourage the children to do some extra writing at home, therefore I will be putting a different picture  on this page each week which I hope will act as inspiration for your child to do a piece of writing as homework. This could take the form of a description, poem, play, story or any other type of writing! Once complete, the writing should be brought into school to share with the class and then it will be kept in our special writing file for everyone to read!

Year 3 Homework- Summer Term (second half)

Image result for keep calm and do your project

During the second half of summer term in Year 3, homework will be slightly different. You will still have spellings and reading to complete each week, but for your other homework I would like you to do a project; the project can be on anything at all that interests you and you will have to find out lots of information! In your project you could include: posters, pictures, photographs, drawings and models. You can present your project in any way you want but it must include writing as well as pictures!
You will have 5 weeks to get your project sorted out- if you want to work with a partner you can do a project between you but you must make sure that you both do a fair share of the work!

During the last 2 weeks of term (starting on Monday 8th July) you will present your project to the rest of the class (just like show and tell!)

If you are struggling for ideas, here is a list of some projects that children have done in the past:
• Outer Space
• Chocolate
• Animals
• Disney
• Harry Potter
• Skiing
• Sea life
• Transport
• Dancing
• Roald Dahl

As you can see, anything goes! There will be a prize for the best project so put lots of effort into it and, most of all, have fun!
